FAQ's

· Q. Should I upgrade or replace my older computer system?

· A: This all depends on your older system. How does it compare to your present needs. If it runs all your software but just isn't fast enough, it might be a good candidate for an upgrade. An upgrade in many cases can save you a lot of money.

· Q: What do upgrades cost?

· A: Naturally the cost depends on what you want. CD-ROM's start at about $15, DVD-CD/RW Combo's start around $50. We also upgrade hard drives, memory, cpu's, sound cards, video cards, etc.

· Q: Are some computers not worth upgrading?

· A: Yes. Some computers are designed in such a way that industry standard parts cannot be used. Some manufactures do this to force you to buy replacement or upgrade parts from them at a much higher cost than standard parts. Often the high cost makes it not worth it to upgrade.

· Q: What are industry standard parts?

· A: Industry standard parts are parts that are designed to go into computers of almost any manufacture. They are manufactured by many different companies who use the standard design specifications but also offer improvements and added features over and above what the original manufacture did.

· Q: When I buy a computer, should I insist on one made of industry standard parts?

· A: YES, I would strongly recommend that. Industry standard parts are under intense competition for quality and features and they are constantly being improved upon.
